Let’s face it; there are going to be some cars in life that you just really want to purchase, but you know deep down that they are just completely pointless! When I was a kid, I always told my folks that I wanted a car just like the Batmobile (the one from the 60s) as it looks so retro and cool, but sadly that day never happened!
Here is a selection of cool but totally pointless cars that many people secretly long for. If you have a car in mind that isn’t in this blog post, feel free to post up in the comments section at the end of this page to share your cars too!

If you have ever been to Australia or New Zealand, you will have noticed that many people in those two Commonwealth countries drive around in rather unique-looking pickup trucks that are perhaps the creation of a union between a saloon car and a truck.
One of the most-popular vehicles of this type is the Holden Ute, as pictured above. According to Bruce from www.a1carriages.co.uk (he is a Vauxhall nut), Holden is a car manufacturer that is owned by General Motors. Vauxhall, in case you didn’t get it, is also a GM-owned carmaker.

A collaboration between Jay Leno and General Motors, the EcoJet car is literally a car that is powered by a jet engine!
It features a Honeywell LT-101 turbine engine, which is good for around 700 brake horsepower, connected up to a GM four-speed automatic gearbox. Apparently the car has a built-in PC and the chassis is based on a Corvette but made from aluminium.

I know that the Range Rover Sport is a rather big, alluring and practical car, but there are many reasons why it is completely pointless. First of all, it might be a 4×4 but it’s not as capable on virtually any terrain as its cousin, the Land Rover Defender.
Secondly, the only people you ever see behind the wheel of a Range Rover Sport are celebrities, footballers and the wealthy. And thirdly, how the hell are you supposed to park such a behemoth in the packed streets of Chelsea…

If you are a big fan of the old American muscle cars, and love hearing the sound of that mighty V8 engine under the bonnet, one of your favourite cars will undoubtedly have to be the iconic Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z. This car is undoubtedly one of the reasons that actually made the 1980s cool!
5. Jaguar E-Type

A true British classic, the Jaguar E-Type is the epitome of automotive style, power, and class. It’s probably THE dream car of many a petrolhead, and although this is a very capable car even by today’s standards, it’s not exactly a reliable one!
